What is Auskick? Some call it organised chaos, we call it really good fun!
NAB AFL Auskick is simply the best introduction for kids into the world of Australian Football. Auskickers run, jump, kick, laugh, express themselves and create their own special moments that just happens to be footy. The Halls Head JFC Auskick program makes learning to play AFL fun, safe and easy for boys and girls from Pre-Primary to Year 2. Through weekly coaching sessions they will learn the skills of the game in an exciting, social and safe environment. The program also provides a great opportunity for parents to interact with their kids through the activities, have the opportunity to make new friends, learn about the game and spend quality time with their children.
Our Auskick Sessions
Sessions run only one hour per week, and there’s no need for expensive kit — Auskickers can wear whatever they’re comfortable in.
No early Sunday mornings at Halls Head JFC Auskick! Our sessions are run on Friday afternoons 4:15pm-5:15pm at Complete Refrigeration & Air Stadium, Merlin Street Reserve, Halls Head.
The Season will run during term 2 & 3 (approx 15 sessions from early May).
Girls are also encouraged to join Auskick and have an opportunity to play in a dedicated Junior Girls Football competition from Year 3. We would also like to run an All Girls Auskick group in 2026, pending growing interest from registrations. Girls will learn everything that the boys do, they are run side by side with mixed Auskick, so you can choose what suits your child.
Pathway to Junior & Youth Football
Once players reach year 3 at school they move into the Junior competition, with modified rules up until year 6, playing against teams from other clubs within the Peel District. The Youth competition commences from Year 7 and provides a challenging platform for players to develop and enhance their skills. For more information see our Junior Football page on this site.
