The Colts have been playing well with 14 wins & 1 loss to be sitting top of the ladder with 3 rounds to go.

Unfortunately we also lost 4 points for an ill disciplined melee which has left us only just in front of the field.

The boys have been performing fantastically and are looking forward to participating in the finals. The numbers on the track have been good but we are starting to realise that you need everybody at this time of year.

Between call ups to Peel Thunder, injuries and illnesses, school football, work commitments it is proving difficult to keep the same side on the field each week.

3 or 4 of the 16’s have been playing of recent times & have performing extremely well.

Finals are just around the corner & we are looking forward to competing against some other very strong sides.

The Reserves Pay Their Respects on Anzac Day

The season has been progressing well for the Seniors.  The numbers have stood up really well with some good results.

We are gradually winning over the doubters at the PFL with our professionalism, discipline & facilities.

Thanks to all those hard workers including the Senior Committee, Coaching Staff, Trainers (of which we now have a couple of new additions), Team Managers, Gate Keepers, Canteen Volunteers and Time Keepers etc.

It takes a huge amount of work to get these 2 sides on the field each week & without these volunteers it simply would not happen.

Planning is well under way for 2010 & yes we are nominating a League side. We think we have built up the necessary experience & will have the manpower to at least be competitive in the first couple of years.

There is still much to do & we need more help to make this happen. We believe our greatest strength going forward is our Junior base.

Of our very impressive Colts side, who have lost only one game this year, virtually every player is a product of the junior programme.

This year Halls Head has also had 11 players on the Peel Thunder Colts main & train on squads, much more than any other club. 2 players are being spoken of as potential draft picks next season.

The message is that if you want to do something with your football in the future, Halls Head is the club to be at.

    Colts Progress

This team has had a fantastic start to the year with 7 wins, no losses and a percentage of 350.

The team has had very consistent performers and is playing a real great brand of team football.

To name a few, the Falkstrom twins have been playing well, the blonds Dom Hardy, Wade Hall and Corey Deleo have also stood out.

Nine of this squad are also training and some playing at Peel Thunder which shows all players can progress threw the system.

It is a long time towards the finals and Coach Gary Brandis will be keeping a lid on things

    Reserves Progress

It has been a tough start to the year with no wins on the board after 7 rounds.

This is not a true indication however of our efforts as 1 bad quarter has cost us dearly in a number of games.

Once this team gets on the board we are confident of them stringing some good results together.

Some of the more consistent players have been Travis Green, Brent Johnson, and Leigh “Killer” Rose.

Captain Steve “Fishy” Taylor also has shown outstanding leadership even though he sustained a serious injury a few weeks ago.

    Watch out for this team.

    Inclusion of a Reserves Team

We have taken another huge step forward with the inclusion of the Reserves team in the PFL this season.

Both teams have been competitive, professional & disciplined and have been a credit to the club.

Merlin Reserve has looked great with cars parked around the oval, lights on & even the odd drink at the bar.

We are progressing well towards having a League team next season.

Thanks go to Silver Wilkins, Gary Brandis & their team of helpers and in particular Simon Goodwin and “Pepper” for keeping the boys on the track.
